No idea if it's a DS3 issue, an issue with the crack I was using, or a problem with Wine. Just try not to die too often because there's way too much back tracking required due to this issue. As the save points are different to the check points (and unfortunately far less frequent), this worked. This would loop indefinitely, so I would have to exit out of the game to the menu and manually load a save. a crack that replaces deadspace3.exe will not create/load save games which were created with the original deadspace3.exe, or even deadspace3.exe modified by a different crack! I was ~40% of the way through the game (played it ages ago), but had to start over from scratch (in a different save game slot) to use a crack just to get it running.Īdditionally, there were some parts of the game where automatic loading of a check point upon death did not work - I would get a light blue screen and then I was automatically dead again before I could even see anything. It's also worth noting that changes to deadspace3.exe cause changes to the save game format, such that they are no longer compatible. It never used to do this AFAICT, but I suspect the application was updated via Origin at some point to cause this regression. Note that the game has to be cracked, or it crashes during the title screen. Started playing with 1.7.34, but most of the game was completed under 1.7.35.
